Florida Labor Day Tax Benefits (Florida Tool Time Tax Holiday)

Beginning next Saturday, September 3, 2022, and continuing through Friday, September 9, 2022, sales taxes on numerous home repair and construction items will be exempted throughout the state of Florida, United States, as part of the Labor Day national holiday, which is celebrated on the first Monday of September each year.

As a buyer, it is an excellent opportunity to get your hands on those goods commonly used in home repairs, and as a seller it is a great incentive to offer your products in a period of important consumption, such as Labor Day.

Most importantly, there is no limit on the number of exempt products you can buy! However, exempt sales are retail sales. You should check with the retailer on issues such as the amount of shipping, as well as tool kits that include both exempt and non-exempt products.

This exemption expressly excludes:

• Sales inside amusement parks, entertainment complexes, airports and public lodging establishments.
• Rental of any of the listed items.
